Impact

Our analysis of the World Risk Poll (WRP) turned complex global data into practical guidance to help leaders and international organizations make sure people are prepared for life’s emergencies—from water safety to climate change.

Challenge

Millions of people worldwide face dangerous emergencies every day, but they often don’t know how to protect themselves. To change that, the Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) asked us to analyze WRP findings from countries most vulnerable to severe weather, climate change, and other threats—and then turn that data into insights leaders can use to give people crucial safety information.

Our Plan

In 2021, we began analyzing WRP data every two years to see where people were missing crucial safety information and what stood in the way of lifesaving guidance. Then we turned those findings into clear strategies to help leaders and organizations reach the public more effectively and make sure more people were prepared for threats ranging from heatwaves to flooding.

We published our work in major media outlets and academic journals to spread the word far and wide.

Approach
