Our study about beating burnout in healthcare could help shape support for healthcare workers nationwide.
Keck Medicine of USC is one of the many hospital systems in the country where a rising number of clinicians voluntarily leave their jobs. To get to the root of why, Keck created the Care for the Caregiver program to offer emotional well-being support services, then partnered with us and the Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research to study what’s preventing these essential workers from thriving.
Ultimately, the study will shape new support systems for caregivers at Keck and has the potential to keep healthcare workers in their roles and reverse the alarming trend of them leaving the workforce. Beyond Keck, we aim to develop evidence-based approaches that other hospitals nationwide can use to help take better care of those who care for us.
