New team will brainstorm ways to provide more shade in L.A. ahead of major events<\/h1>\n\n\n

As the City of Angels prepares for a plethora of major sporting events that will bring an influx of visitors over the next few years, a local initiative is working to improve shade in the region to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ShadeLA, which describes itself as a \u201cpeople-powered movement to make LA cooler\u201d is working with the county, city, LA Metro, LA28 and dozens of community partners to bring more shade around the city. It\u2019s an effort being led by USC Public Exchange and UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
